Band rings post first round of soldering.

My ring project was actually a set of two rings, joined together by a handcuff charm. To create it, I first made the band rings by cutting the metal to the right length, filing the ends, and soldering the ends of each together. Something I did which I was very happy with was to file the top and bottom inside and outside "corners" or each band ring. I did this by using an arched file on the inside of the ring, and a flat file for the outside top and outside bottom. This made my ring much more smooth and comfortable to wear.
My next step was to make the loops. I did this by taking a wire, curving it with tweevers, cutting it down to a tiny curved piece, and filing the ends. This part was difficult, because the tiny pieces often got lost and I had to remake them a couple times. Additionally, it was hard to get a grip with the wedge clamps on the loop to file it. Despite my difficulties, the actual creation of the loops was very successful, and one part that went particularly well for me was that the jump ring fit through both loops perfectly, and the hole wasn't too small.
After, I soldered the loop to the main ring. The first time I did this, I had a big problem: when I heated up the ring, the first solder joint I had create popped open, despite having used an easier solder for the second joint. To solve the problem, I fixed the first soldered joint, then, when it was time to solder on the loop again, I applied heat directly to the loop, rather than heating up the ring. This worked very well for me, and I repeated the process for the second ring.
After filing, sanding, buffing, and polishing, my final step was to attach the handcuff charm to the ring by threading jump rings through the loops and each 'cuff'.
Overall, I am very happy with how my project turned out, and the result was very close to my original design. I learned from my mistakes with the second round of soldering, that if it is a small area and very easy solder, it is better to directly apply heat rather tha heat up the whole ring. An additional thing I did well, which I realized after completion, was that the rings fit very well and were the perfect size for my fingers.
