Collision is inspired by the image known as "The Most Beautiful Suicide," exploring conceptual themes of despair and growth as well as literal details such as metal structure and manipulation.
Collision is made for the Lost Woman, a woman who has lost her direction in life or is struggling with some issue that has made her lose touch with her identity. This point in her mental state is represented by the first figure in a dress most directly inspired by The Most Beautiful Suicide.
As the lineup progresses, three details – body language, texture/sillhouette, and color – all go to tell the story of the Lost Woman's journey:
from rock bottom to confusion to people reaching out to help her to acceptance that she needs to change to support to growth and, finally, to thriving, where she is not only stable but confident enough to accept change.
As the lineup progresses, the models' body language changes as well as the interactions between the figures. Simultaneasuly, the designs' silhouettes change from a crushed texture to smoother more structured shapes (respresenting finding stability in life) and finally to soft curves, representing forging one's own path. Finally, the color palette also becomes lighter and more clear. These three details – body language, texture/sillhouette, and color – all go to tell the story of the Lost Woman's journey: from rock bottom to people reaching out to help her to acceptance that she needs to change to support to growth and, finally, to thriving, where she is not only stable but confident enough to accept change.
